Andrii Tiurenkov explains the importance of Microfinance and the results of the latest regulatory changes. He discusses the development on the market and speaks about the expectations of investors.
Driving positive impact – together! We are glad to announce our 3-year Sustainability Rating partnership with Mikro Kapital Moldova, an MFI specialized in financing micro and small enterprises. After the onboarding of 11 Indian MFIs, Mikro Kapital is our first Rating partner in South-East Europe. “The microfinance sector remains an important vehicle to support #MSMEs, which are key to COVID19 inclusive recovery and sustainable development. The initial results of Mikro Kapital’s #sustainability performance assessment using our Agents for Impact Sustainability Alignment Rating (AFISAR©) already indicated a good alignment to the #SDGs, in particular to #SDG16 (Peace, Justice and Strong institutions) & #SDG5 (Gender Equality), partly as a result of a high representation of women in the institution.”, said Juliane Boeselager, Director Sustainability Rating at AFI. Mikro Kapital Moldova’s CEO, Sergiu Turcanu, commented, “The annual sustainability rating will help us to better understand the alignment of our operations to the SDGs and identify measures to further expand our positive impact, at institutional and portfolio level. Thus, we look forward to our partnership with AFI to analyse our social, environmental and corporate governance performance with the help of the AFISAR Tool.”
